As
a twenty-three year Lee's Summit
resident, I am pleased to declare
my candidacy for the Lee's Summit
2nd District City Council seat.
I am excited and enthusiastic
about the opportunity to represent
the residents throughout the second
district. I
have worked for many years to
find solutions to complex issues
that face our community including
infrastructure development, public
education, transportation and
quality of life improvements.
These are just a few areas that
I have hands on experience that
I will bring to the city council.
I
have received encouragement and
support from a host of residents
from throughout the 2nd District
and indeed throughout the metropolitan
area, who are familiar with my
record of successful public service
and whom I greatly respect and
trust. I look forward to building
upon my years of public service
to the community and to the opportunity
to represent the residents of
Lee's Summit during this exciting
time in our city's development.
I
have been extensively involved
in Lee’s Summit for more
than two decades and I will continue
to provide proven leadership for
the residents of our growing metropolitan
community. My
experience in public service includes
many successful local, regional,
state and national efforts
in areas such as education, healthcare,
economic development and the arts.
In
recognition of my community leadership,
I have received numerous civic
honors including the 2006 City
of Lee’s Summit Humanitarian
of the Year, National Community
Leadership Association Distinguished
Leadership Award in 2007, and
the Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni
of the Year Award in 2006 –
just to name a few.
I
have lived in Lee’s Summit
with my wife Carmen since 1984.
We have two children, Heather
Pelanne and Allan S. ‘Trey’
Gray III. Currently, I am the
Director of Community Relations
and Cultural Affairs for Truman
Medical Center.
A
Campaign
Committee of
Lee's Summit community leaders
and citizens has been formed to
provide assistance and leadership
for my campaign. A citizen-driven
comprehensive campaign strategy
has been developed thanks to the
commitment of numerous volunteers,
committee members and supportive
residents in the 2nd District.
In the weeks during the campaign
I plan to meet with voters from
throughout the district.
I
am looking forward to spending
time with the voters in the 2nd
District to learn more about their
concerns and hopes and to share
my vision for our city.

The
municipal election will be held
on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Allan
Gray will be the first candidate
listed on the 2nd District ballot.

Gray – Experience…Leadership…Vision!
